Centralia College is located on a 30-acre campus in the heart of Centralia, Washington and has been serving students in the Lewis County region since 1925. As a comprehensive community college, Centralia College offers academic transfer and workforce programs, as well as adult basic education, ELL, and personal enrichment classes. The college also offers five Bachelor of Applied Science degrees: Information Technology – Application Development, Diesel Technology, Applied Management (Business), Behavioral Healthcare and Teacher Education.
In addition to the main campus in Centralia, Centralia College East in Morton is a smaller site that serves the needs of students in east Lewis County. Since the college is committed to the success of all students, Centralia College also provides educational programs at two corrections centers in southwest Washington – Garrett Heyns Education Center located in Shelton, Washington and the Cedar Creek Corrections Center located in Littlerock, Washington. In addition to Green Hill School in Chehalis, Washington. In total, the college serves more than 7,000 students annually. Job Description The Vice President of Instruction is the Chief Academic Officer of the college and is responsible for providing overall vision, leadership, management, and planning for the instructional functions of the college. The VP of Instruction reports to the college president and is a member of the Executive Management Team.This position serves as an effective team player and member of the president’s executive cabinet, and is visible and present for faculty and academic deans. The VPI plays a leadership role in developing and ensuring execution of a vision that advances equity, inclusion, and student access, excellence in teaching and learning, and student success across all academic departments. They will help lead the College in achieving the goals of the equity- centered strategic plan:
The ideal candidate will have a combination of the following skills and experience:
Areas governed by Instruction include five academic divisions, non-credit and workforce training, Library Services, eLearning, Faculty development/Teaching and Learning Center, Adult/Basic Education/ESL and Adult Literacy, outcomes assessment, and accreditation, Guided Pathways, and academic supports. Duties and Responsibilities Areas of responsibility include academic transfer, professional technical and baccalaureate, and pre-college programs; continuing and community education offerings; a variety of student support functions, including the library, eLearning, tutoring, Worker Retraining and Work First; preparation and oversight of instructional budgets in excess of $11 million; general oversight of academic scheduling; faculty selection, evaluation, and tenure processes; development and implementation of academic planning tools. The VP of Instruction works closely with other divisions of the college in order to carry out the mission of the college and to assure that students can successfully define and carry out their educational goals.

Conditions of Employment
This is a twelve (12) month per year, full-time administrative exempt position. The salary is $147,000 – $162,000 annually depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The state of Washington provides a comprehensive benefits package for state employees. The position may participate in the TIAA/CREF retirement system.
