Human Resources Generalist

We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources Team to manage various aspects of the HR function of Luna Park in Coney Island including but not limited to seasonal recruitment, on-boarding and off-boarding, training and development, policy compliance, talent and performance management, team member relations and terminations. The ideal candidate has prior experience working in a fast-paced HR environment, conducts high volume recruitment, understands hospitality, and enjoys team member engagement. The HR Generalist will be savvy, tactful, and passionate about supporting the growth and development of team members within the company.
About Us:
Central Amusement International Inc. (CAI) is an amusement park development and management company located in New York City. In 2003, CAI developed Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink in Central Park, and in 2010 developed Luna Park in Coney Island, at the site of the birthplace of the amusement industry. CAI is part of the Zamperla Group, which is the worldwide leader in the manufacturing of amusement rides.

3. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible to provide day-to-day assistance across multiple HR functions
· Provide day-to-day guidance and counsel on the interpretation of company policies, procedures, and programs
· Oversees the coordination of the annual seasonal recruitment program to include assessing departmental needs, coordinating job fairs and community events, prescreening candidates and tracking hires
· Ensures new hires understand company culture and values through delivery of onboarding and new hire orientation programs
· Manage team member lifecycle including onboarding, 30, 60 and 90-day check-ins, new hire orientation and offboarding processes
· Serve as a fairness advocate by listening to and resolving team member grievances; and by counseling team members
· Assists in conducting investigations related to employee relations issues with guidance of HR Director
· Monitor company culture and values compliance
· Assist HR Team with time and attendance process
· Assist HR Team with J-1 VISA tourist program for seasonal positions
· Assist HR Team with all aspects of team member relations
· Assist HR Team with administration of team members benefits, such as insurance and 401(k)
· Assist HR Team with administration of Workers’ Comp, Disability, and FMLA
· Assist HR Team with planning and execution of team member functions and events
· Provide training to hiring managers on the Applicant Tracking System and effective interviewing
· Work with managers to make coaching and development of team members a daily activity
· Collaborate with HR team to build and implement trainings for team members
· Assist with communication across all departments, such as team member newsletter
· Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR Federal, State, and Local requirements
· Responsible for ensuring data integrity for assigned HR Systems, including the review, process, and approval of personnel changes
· Perform other duties expected of the Human Resources Generalist position and assist in all other operations of the park as assigned and directed
4. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and positive attitude
· Teamwork, continuous improvement, and process-based culture
· 5+ years’ equivalent professional experience required with strong recruitment and employee relations skills
· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology or related
· Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred
· Must be approachable and able to earn trust and credibility across the company
· Extremely flexible and has the ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive deadlines efficiently
· Excellent project management skills (critical thinker, manages expectations, follows timeline, communicates progress effectively)
· Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and expert knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and editing
· Knowledge of Applicant Tracking System required
· Hospitality experience a plus
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
· Meticulous attention to detail
· Due to the nature of the amusement park business, must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes some weekend days and summer holidays during high season
5. BENEFITS & COMPENSATION:
· Starting Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 annual
· Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, Life insurance, Short- and Long-term disability coverage, Profit Share Plan
