SUMMARY:
The Department of Chemistry at Carthage College invites
applications for a full-time, one-year non-renewable Assistant Professor position starting August 2022. The successful candidate will teach
general chemistry courses. Candidates from all specialties are encouraged to apply.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The candidate must be able to teach general chemistry and chemistry for non-majors.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemistry and a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and supporting a diverse
student population.
The Chemistry Department is ACS certified and has recently moved into a newly renovated science center. Our
equipment includes a 400-MHz NMR, GC-MS, HPLC, GC, FTIR, MP-AES, and UV/VIS. The Carthage faculty is firmly committed to the liberal arts
tradition and interdisciplinary work. A demonstration of teaching ability will be required at the final interview. More information about
