GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Patient Registration Manager is responsible for the effective leadership and efficient 24/7 operation of the Patient Registration Department. Areas of responsibility include the Emergency Department, Inpatient Admissions, Outpatient Registration and Bed Control for Bryan Medical Center East, West, and off-site locations. In addition to managing the budget to meet the goals and objectives of the Medical Center, the Patient Registration Manager participates in department, division, and organization-wide initiatives focusing on regulatory compliance and performance excellence.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
2. *Responsible for the design and implementation of processes related to demographic data collection and other Patient Access functions in accordance with Bryan Medical Center’s objectives.
3. *Ensures Patient Access staff delivers the highest level of customer service as measured by the patient satisfaction and physician satisfaction results and participates in organization-wide initiatives focused on superior customer experience.
4. *Promotes interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration to optimize efficient and effective patient-centered care delivery.
5. *Develops and manages capital, operational, and human resource budgets based on strategic service, best practices, and organizational standards.
6. *Establishes and monitors quality improvement control procedures to identify errors, exceptions, and discrepancies in the admitting and pre-access process.
7. *Creates a high-performing Patient Access team and oversees the hiring, training, supervising, and evaluation of all Patient Access staff members including and Patient Access Specialists.
8. *Pursues and implements industry best practices to ensure the Patient Access Department continues to support the mission of Bryan Medical Center “to provide excellent care and promote health with a focus on quality, collaboration and compassion”.
9. *Monitors the quality of data obtained by Patient Access staff to maintain compliance with all government regulations and organizational requirements.
10. *Responsible for design and function of the Medical Center’s ADT system as it relates to Patient Access functions and identifies opportunities to gain efficiency and/or increase the quality of data entry.
11. *Interfaces with physician offices and ancillary departments to create efficient and customer-focused process for registering patients.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or healthcare-related field required. Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible work experience in a hospital or medical center required. Minimum of two (2) years supervisory or management experience required.
