We are currently seeking a Site Coordinator for our second location- Hollis Elementary School for After School hours 2:00-6:00. This person will be in charge of up to five other staff members and will also be an active participant in children’s activities. You must be able to manage employees, speak with parents, manage children’s behavior issues that come up, and be comfortable with crisis intervention. The hours are split shift, forming a full-time job making you eligible for health benefits, sick time, vacation time, as well as dental. The shift is in our before-school program 6:45-8:45 and then 2:00-6:00 (M-F). Experience is required.

Core Functions: * Maintain current EEC license/renewals, standards, and regulations for site. * Directly supervises, informally evaluate performance, mentor employees and volunteers. * Monitors and communicates with School Age Child Care Director any behavioral concerns or improper performance by either students or staff members. * Assist in working towards new levels as defined in the Massachusetts Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS). * Assist with development of curriculum with engaging, age appropriate activities for all program areas i.e., making sure all classrooms and outside activities are age appropriate and being properly supervised, in ratio and are purposeful. . * Implementation of consistent methods and daily practice according to B.A.S.E.’s policies and EEC regulations, positive communication with parents of SACC children, and supporting partnerships with families. Ensuring persons in the building know where they are going when picking up children, making sure staff is checking I.D.’s, assisting/ maintaining strong support to teachers when engaging in parent conversation. * Provides children, families, and staff with a safe, clean, and child-centered environment. * Participates in B.A.S.E. outside functions/volunteers/ attending staff gathering, and staff meetings as required. * Maintain an up to date valid 7D license * Filling in during the day, bus runs, giving breaks when needed. Being a site coordinator means being able to fill in for others when needed and being flexible in nature. Tasks may be added to or taken from this description at administrator(s) discretion with proper orientation and explanation to job holder. Daily responsibilities included but are not limited to: * Walk around helping/observing classrooms * Checking medications to make sure they are not left out on tables that they are put away in the cabinets * Teachers are ‘zoned’ around classroom/gym/outside at all times. * Absolutely NO cell phones unless cleared by us- they do use them to take pictures for Blogs so they could have them out for that * All personal items (pocket books, etc) are put in teacher cabinets and not out were kids can see or reach them * Teachers are being interactive with students and welcoming to parents * Periodically check numbers in classrooms and make sure they match the attendance * Feel free to intervene with students who may crying or upset even if teachers doesn’t prompt you, going above and beyond to get to the bottom of an issue. * There is a closing schedule so you and one other staff will always close. Check with them to see whose closing week it is. It is on a weekly rotation. The same class that is responsible for closing Is responsible for cleaning the kitchen. On Friday’s they must clean out the fridge. Also, the keeping an eye on the supply room making sure it is stocked and cleaned by staff. * Give teachers breaks if they need them from the classroom, if they are overwhelmed. * Ensuring children are where they are supposed to be in the building, helping with transitions- i.e. clubs, etc. making sure numbers are consistently checked and updated by children and S.C. knows number of children in building in case of an emergency. * All closing responsibilities are fulfilled at end of the evening. Lock up procedures. As Site Coordinator you are expected to be committed to B.A.S.E. above all other outside commitments during your scheduled work hours; which may or may not include staying after closing hours to ensure all children have been picked up safely. Also, but not limited to ensuring highest quality programming, meeting all EEC regulations, QRIS standards and being dedicated to providing a fun, nurturing, and safe environment for children after school. You must ensure all staff is exhibiting the same practices. You may be asked to assist in any preschool issues that come up if no director is on site.
