Administrative Assistant (Leave Coverage Position)
Boston University Academy is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant for a temporary position from November 2023 through May 2024. Primary responsibilities include serving as the executive assistant to the Head of School; supporting the Associate Head of School in a number of areas; serving as the office manager for the college counseling department; and taking on special projects. It is a critical role for the organization and an opportunity to be right at the heart of a dynamic high school community.
As the only high school in New England that is part of a major research university, Boston University Academy (BUA) offers students who love learning both a traditional, caring independent school experience and access to a broad range of university courses. In the eleventh and twelfth grades, students follow their passions by regularly completing up to twelve courses from Boston University’s undergraduate curriculum. The school’s 234 students are curious, capable, and kind. They come from 55 cities and towns in the Greater Boston area. 56% of students identify as students of color. 30% of students are on financial aid — a reflection of BUA’s commitment to equity and access.
Benefits for temporary employees through Boston University will differ from those of a permanent employee. Temporary employees are eligible for Boston University’s perks, but are not eligible for paid time off, holiday or Intersession pay, or participation in many of the University’s benefit plans. For more information on part-time employee benefits, please refer to the Boston University page here.
