Are you looking for:
Would you be great at:
If so, this opportunity is for you!
Who We Are:
BooksTime is an ambitious, innovative bookkeeping firm founded in 2016 with operations in 4 countries. For more information, check out our website: bookstime.com.
Why We’re Hiring:
In short: we’re growing fast.
BooksTime is looking to build a small team of senior-level accountants who serve as Onboarding Specialists.
In the past, the same team of accountants at BooksTime has been responsible both for supervising the initial onboarding phase and for then supervising the monthly work for the same clients. Now, we’re splitting this role into 2. First, an “Onboarding Specialist” will oversee the set-up of services for new clients. Then they’ll hand it off to another accountant to supervise the ongoing work. Below, you can find details about what the Onboarding Specialists will do.
These will be Controller or CFO-level professionals working remotely in the US.
What You’ll Do:
You’ll start out by doing the Onboarding Specialist job yourself for a little while, which is all about setting up services for new clients.
Then, once you’ve mastered it, the hope is that you’ll take on a management role. Specifically, you could be promoted to a Director-level role to help build and manage a team of Onboarding Specialists.
About the Onboarding Specialist function:
You’ll talk with new clients, understand their needs, and coordinate a team of international bookkeepers to get their services up and running. Your role is to be a high-level accounting resource to the bookkeepers, help manage communication with the client (including managing their expectations), and generally ensure a smooth start for new clients.
About the management function:
As soon as you’ve learned the ropes, we’ll be looking for you to step into a management role. You’ll (with assistance as needed) interview, select, train and manage a team of approx. 5-10 Onboarding Specialists. You’ll be responsible for all ordinary management functions, with especial emphasis on:
— If a client is being difficult and making unreasonable demands, and the OS isn’t comfortable addressing it on their own.
— If a newer OS is still learning the ropes and needs a co-pilot while leading an onboarding call with a new client.
— If an OS needs advice about how to handle an especially complex project.
(Note: for less experienced candidates and those not interested in management, a non-management version of this role is also available: you can join simply as an Onboarding Specialist.)

Salary: Negotiable. Compensation will likely start out at approx. $30-$40 per hour* while you’re playing the role of Onboarding Specialist yourself. IMPORTANT: Once you make the jump into managing other people in that role, hopefully in the first year, the compensation can increase significantly.
*The range is just to give a sense of the ballpark; an actual compensation plan offer would be based on a candidate’s specific strengths.
