Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Special Nuclear Material Program group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) Nuclear Material Department Manager.
Our team works an on-site 4×10 schedule located at our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off!
Responsibilities Include:
The MFC Nuclear Material Department Manager is responsible for providing leadership, integration, and strategic direction to the NE SNM program for contact handled materials. This program is responsible for disposition of limited value legacy materials, the retention of high value materials for DOE’s research and demonstration goals, the disposition planning for materials without existing pathways, and supplying wide ranging DOE programs with material that supports their specific mission areas. Accomplishing these goals requires a variety of work scope from the conceptual stages through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, and project closeout on unique highly technical projects. Manage the development of budgets and schedules, monitor progress, and initiate action to sure project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget. Translate strategic objectives into integrated strategies and tactics that optimize resource alignment) and maximize project and operational performance. This position also provides an advisory role to numerous programs and projects requiring the use of Special Nuclear Material.
Responsible for nuclear material management program activities which include processing, packaging, consolidation, and shipment of nuclear material; establishing and maintaining disposition capabilities (personnel, equipment, documentation, services, etc.); planning/analyses; and program management. Responsible to represent the INL with DOE – HQ, NE, DOE – ID and other laboratories and contractors at all levels to report on multiple projects.
Provide leadership for the development and maintenance of high-performance teams in accomplishment of MFC projects/work scope management. Responsible to lead and manage a variety of disciplines in the execution of MFC’s Special Nuclear Material Management. Responsible for all areas of human capital management including attracting a diverse technical skill set needed to support mission, developing talent for continued career growth, fostering an inclusive work environment, managing personnel performance, and rewarding performance.
