Job Description:
The primary function of the Patient Relations Coordinator is to assist in leading the patient relations department as it supports the mission and objectives to provide the best possible experience for patients at Baptist Health Paducah.
The coordinator communicates directly with the department director regarding specific problems, improvement opportunities and compliance with hospital polices.
JOB DUTIES – The Coordinator will lead the efforts of the Patient Advisory Council, lead the reward and recognition program, and collaborate with the Human Resources department on employee engagement opportunities through training, support and facilitation of small group discussions.
The Coordinator will serve as a subject matter expert on patient experience data and work with department leaders to improve performance.
The Coordinator will represent the director if the director is not available.
Other duties as assigned.
Follows Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree required with at least three years of health care experience preferred Willing to learn ancillary departments’ procedures and preps.
Position requires discernment, flexibility, tact, and diplomacy in communicating to patients’ instructions and/or problems.
A genuine interest in helping people is necessary.
Must be willing to respect confidential information.
Must also exhibit maturity, tact, judgment, sensitivity, flexibility, empathy, tenacity, communication skills, and sense of humor, patience, and the ability to cope with stress.
