Software Engineer III
The Role:
As a Software Engineer on our latest security product team , you will be developing cutting-edge interfaces and APIs that our Fortune 500 customers use to protect their people and assets.
The primary focus of this position is middle-tier API development, but the workload includes engineering across our entire stack: web interfaces that offer high performance while exploring large amounts of data, middle-tier API development to power your interfaces, and development of automation to deploy and monitor your work. We regularly work with customers to validate ideas during development, so you cannot just heads-down code in a vacuum. This is a uniquely-challenging role: we empower small teams to make large impacts, the scale of our data is legitimately huge, and we’re building product that is absolutely mission-critical to our customers 24/7/365.
Your day-to-day:
Participate in customer feedback sessions to understand how to best empathize with customer needs and build products customers are excited to use
Design & build user interfaces that are utilized by large enterprise customers, but are actually clean & usable
Create API routes and web pages that communicate our threat intelligence in an effective manner
Tune system performance (e.g. API response times, time to first interaction, etc.)
Debug production issues across our cloud-based platform
Write automation code that deploys and monitors your systems in the cloud
Continually deploy & test your work, learn new techniques and technologies as a result of peer review and mentorship; share what you have learned with your peers
What you bring to the team:

An ability & desire to think through customer feedback and quickly validate prototype solutions to their problems
A high bar for your code’s design & performance
Prior experience with one or more JVM languages: Java, Scala, or similar
P rior experience working with large databases (e.g. planning queries, tracking performance over time)
P rior experience building applications in HTML, CSS, and Javascript with modern toolsets
Prior experience debugging production problems that span multiple stack components
A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent degree)

Base Pay Range: 125,160.00 – 196,680.00 USD
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:
Base Pay Range: 103,670.00 – 162,910.00 USD
All other cities and states excluding those listed above:
Base Pay Range: 93,520.00 – 146,960.00 USD
