Student Success AdvisorDescription/Job Summary
Under supervision of the Director of Student Success/Advising, the Student Success Advisor commits to advising students throughout their college career at BCCC. The Advisor support student’s personal and professional development and growth. Advisors recommend best practices in academic advising and recommend strategies that promote student success. Advisors help students meet academic expectations and requirements, practice successful learning strategies, manage personal resources, and navigate college systems. In addition, the student success advisor develops and implements co-curricular programs and events that engage students and supports their abilities to clarify career and/or transfer goals, to improve their academic success behaviors, and to engage in and connect to the college community. This position supports student success in the areas of academic advising, career literacy, understanding financial aid and the consequences for lack of academic progress. Regular evening and weekend work required.
