Design, develop, and launch next-generation optical-sensing technologies. The optical sensing team integrates optical sensors across a variety of Apple products such as iPhones, iPads, and Macs. We are looking for someone to develop and validate models describing complex interactions between optical systems. Strong numerical simulation skills and optics knowledge is required. Key Qualifications
- Strong mathematical/numerical simulation skills, including programming in MATLAB, Python, or similar.
- Experience with optical simulation or optical sensors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent documentation skills.
- Knowledge of display technology or Electrical Engineering is a plus.
- Experience with optical lab equipment (spectrometers, detector, oscilloscope, etc.) and experiments.
Description
You will be developing and validating numerical and optical models for use in building our products. You will characterize sophisticated systems and develop numerical models to describe their behavior. You will collaborate multi-functionalional teams (including Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Software Engineering) to develop these models and use them into our products’ state-of-the-art sensing solutions. – Development and validation of numerical models for complex optical/electrical systems (written in MATLAB, Python, or similar) – Collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve modeling accuracy and applicability of results to high-volume production – Characterization of system behavior to drive model development & validation – Communication and documentation of model specifications with cross-functional teams
Education & Experience
– Degree in Optics, Physics, Math, EE, or equivalent – B.S./M.S. with 2+ years industry experience, or Ph.D.
