Role:
Under general supervision, the Internal Communications Manager supports strategic communications that enhance the Apple FCU brand and culture while driving employee engagement. The position will plan, prepare and deliver corporate messaging, communications and programs that inform, influence and inspire employees. Will serve as primary content and process owner of the organization’s intranet homepage. Network internally and actively participate in meetings, events, etc., to source new communications opportunities and help spread awareness and information across the company. Collaborate with various departments to ensure the timely and accurate dissemination of information, engage employees, and promote a positive organizational culture. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Apple Way principles (Team Up, Serve With Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It). Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Performs other job duties as assigned by the VP of Marketing and Communications, Chief Marketing Officer, or Director of Marketing & Communications.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience in communications, marketing, or related field. Work experience should include internal communications, employee relations and DEI. Superior writer, editor and proofreader. Experience in visual communications, including creating and editing in Adobe Creative Suite preferred; portfolio of work requested. Experience in CMS/Intranet platform editing, page builds and content structure. Experience in mass email distribution systems and ability to build templates and content blocks as well as distribution list sends and organization. Working knowledge of Jira and marketing project systems (such as Monday.com) preferred. Ability to build graphics and content via Canva elements and templates.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Human Resources or related field required.
Interpersonal Skills: Empowered and confident, with the ability to provide strategic communications advice to stakeholders from all backgrounds, education levels and skill sets in all settings (i.e., public speaking, 1:1 dialog). Innovative, organized, and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategic messages equitably throughout the company. Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and to interpret and condense complex information in a user-friendly manner.
Other Skills: Strong time management and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously and effectively with a high degree of follow-through and attention to detail. Experience with all Microsoft Office programs including MS Teams and SharePoint. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, CMS applications, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and Monday.com experience preferred.
Physical Requirements: The ability to lift 25 lbs. and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, copier, phone, etc.
Work Environment: Ability to function in a financial institution, hybrid work environment.
