What the Day Will Look Like
The role will be primarily focused on managing the General Ledger Reporting Process for US Legal Entities comprising the US Commercial Risk Businesses, including administering the monthly close processes, performing Balance Sheet Reconciliation / Variance Analysis, and Working Capital analysis.
- Support monthly, quarterly and year end close process by performing accounting entries as well as variance analysis of balance sheet accounts across multiple legal entities and business units; manage US monthly close timetable, corporate reporting checklists and requirements.
- Coordinate with off-shore support teams to ensure proper and timely performance of month-end close responsibilities including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Maintain general ledger account reconciliation and coordinate review and escalation of breaks and open items to controller leadership.
- Understand and review cash and ledger accounts related to brokerage system.
- Understand, review, and account for incentive-based contracts applicable to the role’s area of oversight.
- Support reporting for Working Capital related balance sheet accounts to illustrate progress on operational goals.
- Assist with reporting and investigating balancing variances related to intercompany accounts.
- Assist with SOX walkthroughs and internal control procedures and testing.
- Assist with preparing audit requests for external auditors.
- Provide support to other ad-hoc projects & initiatives outside of daily reporting responsibilities.

Skills and experience that will lead to Success
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounting and reporting function
- Knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards
- Experience working with Workday system, and principles of Fiduciary Accounting preferable
- Ability to influence colleagues at different levels essential, and to build strong collaborative on-going working relationships with colleagues of different levels
- Strong attention to detail

The target salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans. The amount of the incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
