Private Equity Assistant Vice President /Account Executive
The Private Equity Assistant Vice President provides health and benefits consulting services to Private Equity Firms and their Portfolio Companies.
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Health Consulting business group within Aon, in Denver, Colorado. As a Private Equity Health and Benefits Assistant Vice President you will report directly to the Senior Vice President.

What the day will look like
- Demonstrates understanding of how Aon’s Private Equity clients and their portfolio companies operate within the Health Solutions space
- Leads new business pursuits and presentations at finalist meetings often to C-suite and/or Private Equity Leaders
- Demonstrates sophisticated health and benefits technical and consultative skills/expertise
- Possesses advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities
- Understands how H&B fits into broader benefits and Total Rewards context and the human capital management needs of our clients; links that understanding to other lines of business and other opportunities to help our clients solve their problems
- Looks for opportunities to expand current client relationships
- Manages ongoing client relationship and internal consulting team. Leads with little oversight. Identifies and secures resources as appropriate
- Form effective teams, share client background and goals, measure results, share ideas, identify process improvements, provide timely and regular coaching and feedback to team members
- Leads client work; takes ownership of client deliverables, manages project plans and open issues, leads client meetings, assesses risks
- Leverages through delegating work to colleagues. Ensures own work and work of junior colleagues is complete and thorough.
- Has responsibility for overall review of deliverables
- Supervise vendor negotiations and provide technical coaching to other team members
- Act as strategic resource for consultants
How this opportunity is different
The Health Solutions Consulting Account Executive – Private Equity will be a key contributor and leader for private equity clients. The role involves the management of ongoing U.S. health and benefits client work split with new business responsibility. This position will have frequent interactions with the Private Equity firm, C-Suite and client’s Human Resource/Benefit Director for the delivery of benefits consulting services.
Responsibilities include handling complex consulting projects, leading new business pursuits, proactive project management, vendor interface, developing client reports, leading external meetings and internal resource coordination. Additionally, the consultant has responsibilities for revenue growth while identifying client needs for other consulting services.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Five plus years Health and Benefits background
- Five plus years of consulting experience
- Client facing experience at a consulting company, insurance company, brokerage or in the Health and Benefits field
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Complex project management experience
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once under tight deadlines
- Broad business knowledge/perspective
- Team building skills
- Business development experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Experience:
- Private equity experience strongly preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (mathematics, finance or economics preferred) in relevant field

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $127,000 to $181,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Denver, Co. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive [an annual discretionary bonus] [production incentives] in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] [production incentives] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
