The Opportunity: Compass Workforce Solutions has been retained to execute a search for an HR Specialist on behalf of Above All Store Fronts Inc.
Above All Store Fronts is a family owned and operated construction business that specializes in the furnishing and installation of fully engineered architectural exterior wall systems throughout New York and the tri-state region. Headquartered in Hauppauge with another location in Patchogue, AASF has more than 100 years of combined experience in façade systems and employs over 200 employees, including an extensive custom fabrication facility, an estimating department, and a team of design engineers that utilize building information modeling (BIM) to coordinate the detailing and integration of complex wall cladding conditions across various exterior wall systems.
Position Summary: This position will primarily recruit for office and field positions including, posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires. The HR specialist will be the first point of contact to respond to day-to-day employee questions on existing company policies and benefits. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of an Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field with 3 or more years of recruiting experience, strong communication and listening skills. This is a service-oriented position that requires bilingual speaking and writing skills in English and Spanish.
Job Responsibilities:
· Recruit, screen, interview, and onboard new hires including posting job ads on Zip and Indeed, social media, reviewing resumes and following up with hiring mangers on profiles of candidates that appear to be qualified.
· Compile and maintain personnel records in hardcopy and E-Navigator.
· Prepare reports for employment records, file employment records, or search employee files and furnish information.
· Schedule and follow up on 30/60/90 reviews.
· Support benefits open enrollment, benefits elections for new hires, complete DBL and PFL forms and submit claims.
· Support and maintain drug test protocols and files on CDL drivers and other employees that drive for work including use of LENS.
· Respond to day-to-day employee questions on existing company policies and benefits.
· In partnership with Payroll, complete requests for employment confirmations.
· Prepare termination letters and basic employee documentation.
· Support employee programs such as the “Biggest Loser.”
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be able to work 8:00AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday in Hauppauge and Patchogue with occasional overtime
· Must have 3 or more years of recruiting experience
· Associate degree in Human Resources, business or related field or equivalent work experience
· Sound judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· MS Office 365 proficiency required
· Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
Pay Range: $29.00 – $37.00 per hour
