The Infrastructure Engineering team develops products supporting the Infrastructure Accountability Platform.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a expert engineer with the skills to bring together a suite of mature, nascent, and to-be-developed products across multiple engineering squads into a composable platform that will bring value, policy automation, and accountability to the large NIKE cloud ecosystem.

The candidate will have demonstrable experience architecting, designing, and/or engineering governance solutions in large public cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) deployments. They will know how to connect with customers, peers, leaders, and public cloud provider technical resources.

Attention to detail, strategic thinking, solution design, public cloud expertise, and strong communication and networking abilities are a must for this role.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will serve as the spark behind the creation of a holistic API-first platform for Infrastructure Accountability. You will use your interpersonal skills and technical acumen to bring together existing in-house, cloud native, and third-party products and services, including those for tagging, account provisioning, cost reporting, and policy as code. You will ensure the user experience is balanced across multiple cloud platforms while maturing the automation of compliance, configuration, and controls. You will work with product managers to build short-term plans and long-term roadmaps for the platform.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will partner with energetic and dedicated NIKE team members including engineering leaders, architects, developers, product managers, program managers, and governance advocates. Reporting through the Infrastructure Engineering team leadership, you will reach across teams within NIKE Technology Operations and partner with key stakeholders and resources throughout NIKE Global Technology.

WHAT YOU BRING

In addition to the requirements described above, successful candidates will exhibit the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT related discipline or any combination of equivalent relevant education, training and experience
• Extensive core infrastructure engineering experience using public cloud provider platforms and services (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Working knowledge of full stack application development in public cloud ecosystems
• Demonstrated knowledge of cloud governance methods such as organizational policy (e.g. AWS SCPs, Azure Policy)
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code tools, and version control tools
• Strong understanding of cloud security, including identity access and access management (IAM)
• Working knowledge of cloud networking principles and services
• Knowledge of Agile principles and Sprint Planning, including planning/backlog tools (e.g. JIRA)
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with business and technical teams

The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:

• Balanced experience in AWS and Azure
• Understanding of the differences between China-based cloud services and their global counterparts
• Experience with Python or similar automation/scripting languages
• Knowledge of FinOps practices
• Knowledge of cloud tagging and metadata best practices
• Understanding of policy engines like Cloud Custodian
