Position Summary:

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment and employment law compliance, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation and benefits administration.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts recruitment effort for exempt and non-exempt personnel, interns, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations. Establishes and fosters relationships with tech/trade schools and colleges/universities. Note: ABEC is experiencing tremendous growth and recruitment will be the primary focus of the role to begin.
• Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel.
• Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of personnel policies and procedures.
• Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
• Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
• Develops and maintains action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports, and logs.
• Handles employee relations counselling and exit interviewing.
• Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
• Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
• Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
• Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports as needed.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
• Execute other tasks as assigned.
• Ability to travel to Bethlehem, PA & Springfield, MO for training purposes.
• Ability to travel when required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in HR Management.
• 3-5 years of HR experience in the HR field. Or 7 years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of state employment laws, and the ability to apply employment laws when applicable to various employee situations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications & HRIS (Paylocity experience a plus).
• Enjoys working with an HR team as well as being self-directed and able to complete projects independently.
• SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential preferred.
• HR Business Partner experience, including project management and change management.
• Experience with data analytics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage process change initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience in providing proactive solutions to human resource issues.
• An understanding of technical trends including but not limited to HR systems and the use of social media and mobile applications.
