Overview

Provides the highest technical level of shop and remanufacturing support. Operates (new/used) complex products – both pre-install and for trouble shooting most complex issues. Provides Quality Assurance support and extended training for shop/refurb technicians. Leads the team for project based pre-installs, special shop builds and refurbishing activities. Advanced knowledge of processes and systems. Also must have the ability to perform all physical and administrative shop tasks. Directs other shop/warehouse personnel when required. Act as the Shop Supervisor support and back-up.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned configurations each day at or above the established benchmark for the models done.

• Maintains appropriate monthly average labor time for “S” and “C” calls, dependent on assigned work load and availability.

• Achieves monthly accountability expectations for position (based on shop tech matrix).

• Maintains all technical information and Canon property assigned.

• Available to work overtime (daily and weekends) as required.

– Provides expert level support for all shop areas – provides guidance and on the job training to shop associates.

• Works on special projects and assists with creating and writing new procedures for new models and configurations.

• Assists with QC procedures for shop activity.

• Handles escalated and difficult production requirements within company guidelines.

• Completes repairs and maintenance on used equipment within the RDC goals (for either transfer triage/evaluation or for final preparation for local delivery).

• Maintains highest level of work quality for self and team.

• Stays current on Canon Technical Certifications on all current Canon model lines as related to shop requirements.

• Trains and directs lower level Technicians in all aspects of shop and refurb functions.

• Creates a positive work environment by building team relationships.

• Collaborates with all warehouse groups to ensure high level of productivity cross functionally while supporting and following company processes.

• Monitors and maintains shop cleanliness and security.

• Supports shop supervisor with communicating production goals and requirements.

• Acts as back up for Supervisor as required.

Qualifications

HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required, plus 6 or more years of related experience.

• Degree in Electronics, or equivalent training in Military/Trade School/Industry.
• Copier insudtry experience.
• Strong Understanding of all computer platforms, general application software and networking environments.
• Strong working understanding of internet environment.
• Capable of accessing E-support via a computer and using on-line tools.
• Strong technical and non-technical support and communication skills with willingness to assist / teach other.
• Demonstrate appropriate level of technical knowledge, skills and learning ability.
• Travel to support other RDCs as assigned (valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record necessary).
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and be in a mobile activity more than 50% of the time (walking, standing, stooping/kneeling).
• Must be capable of pushing equipment through warehouse as needed. Ability to work entire shift while standing with occasional rest. Must be able to use hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices to perform job duties. You may be required to work in a plant that is not environmentally controlled and requires work in extreme heat/humidity during summer months.
