We are currently sourcing for a Quantum Computing Researcher Scientist to join the FCAT (Fidelity Center for Applied Technology) Business Unit responsible for quantum computing development. This role will be based in Boston, MA.

We are looking for an expert researcher to join our quantum development team to perform research into emerging quantum technologies and building proofs of concept that demonstrate how these technologies can solve use cases from across the firm.

The Purpose of your role

As a member of the FCAT Quantum Computing Incubator, you will work with the team to design and build proof of concept experiments that

• demonstrate how quantum computing can be used to solve a wide variety of business use cases
• provide insight into the quantum timeline that can be translated into suggestions and roadmaps for the entire Fidelity organization
• help other teams access new systems and solutions for further testing and development
• Tap into your expertise to ensure teams across Fidelity are using outstanding tools today and in the future

You will also share your findings throughout the company through written summaries, videos, demos, and live presentations.

The Expertise You Have

• Bachelors, Masters of PhD degree in computer science, engineering, physics, or a related technical field required
• Experience researching and working with quantum algorithms or systems
• Programming skills in Python and data science libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn
• Familiarity with quantum computing libraries such as Qiskit, Pennylane, Braket, or Cirq
• Experience with HPC/Parallel computing or mathematical programming a plus
• Demonstrable experience in Agile methodologies

• Technical design and analysis skills and an ability to balance ambiguity and work in fast-paced environment
• Superb communication and collaboration skills through both written and verbal channels
• Ability to rapidly pick up new concepts and programming libraries
• Ability to understand and adapt to changing business priorities and technology advancements
• Understanding of mathematical and statistical models used in the Financial Services industry (this is not a requirement but highly desired).
