Job Description:
Data Center Administrator will be responsible for physical upgrades, implementation, optimizations and troubleshooting onsite at two of the clients Santa Clara data centers. Troubleshooting and debugging HW and Linux (Red Hat & Ubuntu mainly) will be critical. This lab supports R&D products before production and all issues associated with the product in the lab becomes a P1 against all other day to day duties. Documentation of failures and solutions will be important. Being proactive when noticing an upcoming issue.
Lab techs will deploy circuit boards and need to be able to troubleshoot any related issues, run diagnostics, create documentation, etc. Resources will also assist in rack and stack, cabling and other common data center activities. The contractors will also be expected to have some shift flexibility. 80+% of the time they will work 1st shift (day shift) but occasionally they will be asked to work a night shift to help execute off-hour upgrades. They are maintaining a new product build and tickets related to it will take priority on any other workload.

The main driver for this opening is due to specific new product builds and the need for dedicated support. There is also an increase in break-fix tickets coming through. Need people who have “Can Do” mindset and takes initiative and prevents issues before they happen. Keep log of triggers and patterns. Strong documentation skills.
