Position Overview
The director of the Adolescent Special
Education programs is a full-time, 12-month, on-campus faculty position made up of several components. In addition to serving as program
director, the faculty member in this role will assume additional instructional and/or advising responsibilities.
The Adolescent
Special Education Programs are currently Teaching Collaborative and Teaching Fellows partnership programs with the NYC Department of
Education. The College is looking to expand these programs and the role at a future time may include leadership of residency and/or more
traditional pathways in adolescent special education.
Bank Street College is not a tenure granting institution, nor does it have
traditional professorial ranks. The position is eligible for a renewable 3-year contract pending a review period.

addition, we are looking for expertise across at least 2-3 of the following content areas for course instruction/supervised fieldwork:
Additional Responsibilities
All full-time faculty must engage in service to the community through
committee work and participation in program, department and divisional meetings; and mentor graduate students on their integrative
master’s projects.
This position is based in our Manhattan campus, but requires flexibility to teach online and in
locations in other boroughs.
