About the WellMD & WellPhD Center:
The Stanford
Medicine WellMD & WellPhD Center was created in late 2015 and is jointly funded by the School of Medicine, Stanford Health Care and Stanford
Children’s Health. Home of the first Chief Wellness Officer at a U.S. academic medical center, the WellMD & WellPhD Center is an innovative
and internationally-recognized program. The Center seeks to advance the well-being of physicians and those they serve, as well as of
biomedical scientist and the beneficiaries of their contributions. Our programs for Stanford Medicine physicians and scientists are designed
to improve professional fulfillment and mitigate burnout. In recognition of our commitment and progress, Stanford Medicine received
gold-level recognition in the 2021 American Medical Association Joy in Medicine Program and is the only institution to receive the highest
level of distinction in consecutive two-year award cycles.
About the role:
This Program Manager, reporting
to the Center’s Executive Director, will work alongside expert Stanford faculty and WellMD & WellPhD colleagues to enhance our existing
safety net programs, create and implement new programs and resources, collaborate with teams across Stanford Medicine, and support task
forces commissioned by our Center aimed at tackling organization-wide challenges. The Program Manager helps shape programmatic offerings,
provides comprehensive project management and operational support, manages recruitment, and evaluates impact to enable continuous
improvement. Examples of programs include commensality groups to increase collegiality and community, a concierge service to improve
work-life integration, care and support programs for those impacted by COVID-19, safety-net programs to support those in distress,
storytelling programs about the authentic experience of being a physician to increase community and vulnerability, and professional coaching
to enhance work-life integration and self-valuation.
This is an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in improving the
culture of wellness, efficiency of practice, and personal resilience for our physicians and biomedical scientists. This complex position
requires a high level of planning, communication, judgment, influence, initiative, and follow-through. Based on the role’s responsibilities,
this is a hybrid position with duties performed both at on-site Stanford location(s) as well as a home office. Percent time in each will be
based on business needs.
About you:
The successful Program Manager will be adept at working with
physicians, faculty scientists, collaborators, and vendors and experienced at managing a portfolio of programs. You are skilled at project
management, experienced in executing successful live and virtual programs, exceptionally organized, highly motivated, flexible, savvy in
developing and navigating relationships across multiple organizations, and capable of working independently. You have solid business and
technical skills, an inquisitive mind, an eye for excellence, and a track record of building effective systems and making sound decisions.
You recognize new opportunities and challenges and approach them with a customer orientation and an entrepreneurial approach. You thrive in
a collaborative, fast-paced, and mission-driven team. Above all, you enjoy making a difference for physicians and scientists, engaging with
