Job Summary:
Teach the following course in an online format during summer 2022 session.
LIS 712: The Public Library
Under the general supervision of the Director of the Information School (iSchool), teach LIS 712: The Public Library, in an online format during the 2022 summer session DHH (6/20/22 – 8/14/22). This position is part of an online program and can be performed entirely remotely/virtually. Duties include preparation of a pre-approved syllabus in consultation with iSchool staff, preparation/delivery of lectures and discussions, creation of new materials in consultation with iSchool staff, preparation and grading of assignments and/or examinations, holding synchronous office hours and consulting with students via email, virtual meetings, or by other means.
Responsibilities:
Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.

Education:
Required
Master’s Degree
Minimum of a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies or closely related field required.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of government records and developing information management strategies, plans, guidelines and policies required. Previous teaching experience and experience in an online learning environment preferred.

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.
