Position Summary
The College of
Arts and Sciences Advisement Center is very excited to announce we are
hiring. We are looking for a talented and energetic leader to take on the
role of Supervisor of Academic Advising for the Social and Behavioral Sciences
Cluster. This position supervises our team of talented advisors Psychology,
Sociology, Criminology, Economics and Political Science.
The selected candidate will lead their team in
various activities required of a centrally
coordinated, decentrally delivered model of advising including but not limited to:
Provides information, training, and consultation to Department Chairs and faculty.
Provides training, guidance, and support to Academic Advisors.
Maintains schedules and assigns activities based on department and college need.
Coordinates Center activities and priorities with the Associate Dean, Director, and other two Supervisors.
Provides second level of advisement by referral for all Social and Behavioral Science disciplines.
Provides direct academic advisement to students.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications include:
1.) A Master’s Degree in a field that is relevant to the position.
2.) Knowledge of related challenge/priorities/collaborations at UNM.
3.) At least three years of advisement experience.
4.) At least two years’ experience related to personnel or project management.

Pay: $3553.33 to $4652.08 per month (depending upon education and experience)
