Purpose of
Position
Plans, coordinates, and directs compliance programs and trainings for the University’s compliance program and
facilitates the review and approval of the University policies.

performance objectives as outlined by the incumbents’ immediate supervisor or manager. This position is security-sensitive and subject to
Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Must possess a valid driver’s
license issued by the State where the applicant resides and must be insurable as defined in the UT System BPM 16-05-02, as applicable to the
performance of essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
Essential Functions
Manages the Institutional
Compliance Training Program; identifies areas of need or risk and assists responsible parties in developing training modules to address
issues; reviews the adequacy of the training programs offered by responsible parties to ensure risk areas are addressed; revises and
provides guidance on modules submitted for on-line compliance training, and develops alternate training mechanisms as needed.
Ensures compliance awareness training is assigned to new faculty, staff and student employees; reviews training courses, techniques and
materials to determine their effectiveness.
Maintains departmental training system, which consists of updating information, verifying
data for accuracy and generating reports.
Maintains the departmental database to track and facilitate the distribution of monthly
notices to employees regarding completion of training requirements.
Researches, as needed, employee training history and employment
information and creates specialized reports as requested.
Creates training material to increase and maintain compliance awareness
throughout the university.
Serves as the University Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOP) Policy Coordinator and facilitates the
policies through the review and approval process in accordance with University Policy.
Maintains and updates departmental website
related to Compliance Training and the HOP.
Assists with the annual risk assessment process.
Assists with the preparation and
collection of monitoring reports from responsible parties for internal reporting requirements and assists with the coordination of
inspections and maintains periodic reports to assess compliance of high-risk items.
Assists with additional compliance initiatives as
needed.
Maintains confidential files.
Schedules and participates in interviews and assists in the selection of applicants for
vacant positions.
Serves on various committees as assigned or required.
Uses initiative and judgment to handle various routine
matters.
Maintains a high degree of confidentiality on all sensitive information privy to this position.
Knowledge of all
Microsoft Office software specifically PowerPoint and Access and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with
all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.
No supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university
within area of assigned responsibility.
Two years of related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
