Job Summary
The Flannery O’Connor Institute for the Humanities Student Assistant performs a variety of support duties through close interaction with Administrative staff and faculty and, as needed, with other departments and/or organizations.
The duties and responsibilities of this position require interpersonal and clerical skills and an understanding of effective customer service.
The Flannery O’Connor Institute for the Humanities Student Assistant could function in a number of capacities to support a grant around Oral Histories of Flannery O’Connor. The students will be expected to produce up to 8 podcast episodes using three existing oral history interviews and use social media to promote and stream via Russell Library podcast. They will also be expected to transcribe new interviews.
The student must be able to effectively use (or willing to learn) technology in this role to produce podcasts.
Also, familiarity with Flannery O’Connor is a plus.
Responsibilities
Creating/producing podcasts based on existing interviews – 70 Will work on the production of podcasts. May transcribe new interviews.
Promoting podcasts on Social Media – 20

Student enrolled in at least six credit hours as an undergraduate student at Georgia College & State University.
Experience with podcasting and/or social media.
