Cohen Military Family Clinic (Cohen Clinic) at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a full time staff therapist. The Cohen Clinic provides low to no cost, evidence-based behavioral health care to Veterans and military family members, including individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as family therapy, in an interdisciplinary setting with Case Management and Medication Management.Job Description
The Staff Therapist will provide psychodiagnostic assessments, with feedback, and treatment planning and/or referrals as appropriate. They will provide evidence-based psychotherapy to clients with a range of presenting concerns, including with adults, children, adolescents, parents, and families. The Staff Therapist will maintain documentation of assessments and treatment interventions. Additionally, this position will have opportunities for professional development, including weekly interdisciplinary consultation sessions and clinical trainings provided at PennMedicine and through the Cohen Veterans Network. They may provide psychotherapy supervision to clinicians in training and will support ongoing quality improvement and program evaluation initiatives as part of our practice.
The population treated at the Cohen Clinic is multicultural and diverse with respect to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. Clinicians have the opportunity to treat underserved groups of veterans, including women veterans and LGBTQ+ veterans and family members.Accordingly, applicants with training, experience, or interest in multicultural/diversity issues in case conceptualization and treatment and working with diverse populations would be a good fit for the position. Interested staff also have the opportunity to engage in ongoing de-colonial practice work to advance equity within the clinic, as well as for those we serve.
The Cohen Clinic is currently operating on a hybrid schedule with 1 day of work from home currently available. Training in telehealth and remote work will be provided as needed. Position requires two evenings per week until 7pm (in person) and some additional non-standard hours per client needs (e.g., occasional mornings at 8am).
Counseling Psychologists at the B level may offer supervision to master’s level clinicians and/or trainees in their discipline.
Counseling Psychologist C level may offer supervision to psychologists and/or psychology trainees and will offer evaluation services, as needed, in addition to psychodiagnostic assessments.
