Job Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Community Care and the Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies Directors, the Clinical Skills Practice Group Leaders are responsible for facilitating certificate program small group sessions and supporting trainees integration of certificate learning outcomes. During the 150 to 200-hour certificate program, trainees meet monthly in small (10-15 person) groups with Clinical Skills Practice Group Leaders (1 per group). Cohort meetings are directed toward a deeper understanding of training content, and will help facilitate in-depth learning of material, as well as community-building within the cohort. Clinical Skills Practice Group Leaders will attend one 5-day in-person opening retreat at Naropa University in May of 2024.
The 2024 Naropa University Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies is an 8-month non-degree certificate program that provides postgraduate level training for advanced professionals working in relevant therapeutic areas, including mental health counseling and psychology, medicine, chaplaincy, and social work. The certificate features a hybrid delivery of online and retreat-based learning.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
● Attend a training and onboarding meeting online, Thursday May 2, 2024 at 12:00-1:00 pm MT.
● Attend a weekly team meeting on Thursdays at 12:00-1:00 pm MT, June-December.
● Attend an in-person training-orientation session at Naropa, May 14 from 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
● Attend the full 5-day in-person program Opening Retreat at Naropa University, May 15-19, facilitating cohort and affinity group meetings, and providing retreat staff support.
● Lead a 90-minute cohort integration meeting twice per month on first and third Wednesday evenings in June, July, September, October, November, and December 2024, from either 12:00-1:30 pm MT, 4-630 pm MT or 6:00-7:30 pm MT.
● Attend optional office hours with the Assistant Director of Community Care, for additional 1-1 supervision as needed to fulfill the role of supporting trainees.
● Facilitate clinical skills development through group discussions, role play activities, and active learning exercises to encourage trainees’ critical engagement with course materials.
● Collaborate closely with Assistant Director for Community Care, Director of Training and Research, and Director of Clinical Education to implement structured learning activities for each cohort group meeting, including but is not limited to: discussion, watching training videos, debriefing trainee reactions to curriculum, and engaging in experiential clinical skills activities.
● Provide trainees’ with ongoing feedback and mentorship based on individual progress.
● Communicate trainee issues to Assistant Director for Community Care.
● Manage and address probationary issues in accordance with program policies and procedures as needed, with support from Assistant Director for Community Care and Directors.
● Track trainee progress using assessment tools based on program learning objectives.
● Track trainee attendance and submit attendance reports to Assistant Director for Community Care on a monthly basis.
● Maintain a consistently high standard of program data collection and upkeep, including regular audits for data accuracy.
● Complete any and all trainings as required by Human Resources, Extended Campus and the Center for Psychedelic Studies.
● Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
● Master’s degree in Counseling, M.Div, or related field, with active license or certification in good standing based on credentials.
● Currently performing clinical work with at least two years of clinical experience.
●Expertise in psychedelic care, with a minimum of two-three years of experience, education and/or practice in this field.
● Previous experience and demonstrated skills in the area(s) of group facilitation, clinical supervision, team building, decision-making, listening, and communication.
● Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of privilege and oppression, and the impact these have on equity, access, and opportunity.
● Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally in all interactions during the course and scope of the job duties.
● Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with program and university staff.
● Commitment to co-create an inclusive community and actively participate in related professional development, including openness to feedback and ongoing self-examination.
● Ability to excel in a high-tech all-digital environment; proficient in video conferencing and digital events software (Zoom, LMS platforms, etc).
● High capacity to adapt to changing circumstances, priorities and unexpected challenges.
● Ability to handle sensitive and extensive personal information effectively while maintaining the highest standards of privacy and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications
● 3+ years of clinical practice experience
● Knowledgeable about the therapeutic application and regulatory landscapes of psychedelic medicines and/or professional experience in the psychedelics field
● Completed or in-process MAPS PBC (now Lykos Therapeutics) MDMA-Assisted Therapy education content.
● Approved professional Clinical Supervisor credential in one’s field, or eligibility.
● Completed JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) training or professional development with demonstrable competencies.
● Familiarity with Naropa University’s curriculum, mission and values.
