General Summary: The Massachusetts Office of Public Collaboration (MOPC) Community Mediation Programs Director is responsible for directing and overseeing and the statutory, state-wide Massachusetts Community Mediation Center (CMC) Grant Program, and related state-sponsored youth, reentry and housing mediation programming funded through the annual CMC Grant Program state budget appropriation. The Community Mediation Programs Director is responsible for grant program development and management, including design and oversight of grant-making and assessment of grant-making processes, data collection, reporting and compliance; supervision of MOPC program managers administering community mediation programming and initiatives; coaching and mentoring center directors on performance planning and non-profit management; designing public outreach and education; managing effective communication with program sponsors and stakeholders; overseeing professional development and training for assigned MOPC staff and capacity building for centers; convening Grant Program Advisory Committee and center director meetings; directing statewide mediator excellence initiatives; leading development and fundraising for community mediation programs and initiatives, and state budget advocacy. In addition, the Community Mediation Programs Director is assigned special projects by the MOPC Executive Director.Examples of Duties:Community Mediation Center Grant Program Administration:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree with a major in conflict resolution or a closely related field preferred. Minimum of seven to nine (7-9) years of administrative or managerial experience in mediation program management, involving program design and administration, screening and assessment, mediation, training, and supervision of mediators. Certificate of completion of thirty hours of mediation training required. Community mediation experience as a mediator, trainer, program manager or case coordinator required. Experience as a facilitator of consensus-building and collaborative planning/problem solving required. Training in other dispute resolution areas such as ombudsman, conflict coaching, restorative justice and/or deliberative dialogue preferred. Experience with conducting outreach and public education, grant-making, financial/budget management, and fundraising required. Knowledge of and experience working with state and local government and legislative budget processes required. Knowledge of and experience working with Massachusetts community-based organizations preferred.
