About Westchester Community College:
Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Westchester Community College is more than just the county’s largest educational institution. Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Vice President and Dean of Student Affairs, the CCAMPIS Adjunct Counselor coordinates the U.S. Department of Education-funded Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program and manages a caseload of student-parent participants. The CCAMPIS Adjunct Counselor engages students through effective enrollment and case management interventions, coordinates program recruitment and eligibility, encourages ongoing participation, and coordinates data collection for reporting and program evaluation.

The successful candidate must also possess knowledge of college courses and programs, counseling techniques; experience in using interactive/community building software such as e-portfolios, Facebook, Zoom, and the ability to relate to community college students of traditional college-age as well as non-traditional students of various ages and diverse educational and socio-economic backgrounds; knowledge of, experience with, and interest in working with parenting students.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual verbal and written fluency preferred. Experience using student information systems such as PeopleSoft and Starfish and course managers such as Bright Space is desirable. Familiarity with higher education trends, especially those affecting the community college is desirable.
Additional Information:
WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule is Monday through Friday. The work hours are between 9 am and 6 pm. The maximum weekly hours is 28 hours per week, depending on the time of the year. This is an in-person position.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $45.32 per hour. No benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
