This position
consists of direct support to students, disability-related and education outreach to academic departments as well as outside communities,
and supervision of employees. This role will be instrumental in creating an exceptional student and faculty experience. The AD must be able
to partner with all areas of the university community and implement best practices regarding policy and practices on a health science
campus.
The AD will help promote a vibrant, diverse and inclusive, co-curricular learning environment.

Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, health sciences, higher education, counseling, student
affairs, social work, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. Substitution: A combination of education and
related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
Four or
more years of experience working in disability services or accommodations in a post-secondary or related setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master degree in education, rehabilitation counseling, psychology, or
related field, or. J.D.
Experience working with students in a health-science campus setting or working in a healthcare
setting.
Experience reviewing medical and/or psychological documentation and working through an interactive process for
recommending accommodations.
Experience using Accessible Information Management (AIM) software for accommodation
management.

Ability to communicate
effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees
at all levels throughout the institution.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated commitment and
leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
Ability to maintain a database for tracking requests and
accommodations.
Ability to mediate regarding disabilities, accommodations, and/or grievances.
Knowledge:
Applicable federal and state laws, i.e. Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act & Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act along with
relevant case law pertaining to disability in higher education. The types of accommodations available for students with disabilities in the
postsecondary setting.

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and
reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime
compensation.
