Position Overview
Paul Quinn College seeks an experienced student retention and support professional who is eager to implement and maintain innovative retention and outreach strategies focused on the retention and graduation of Paul Quinn students. The person will work closely with key departments to address weak areas, strengthen and scale up successful interventions and ensure students are connected with campus resources. The primary duties are detailed below:
· Provide leadership and supervision to TRiO programs and staff, retention managers and mental health and wellness program of the College
· Reach targets for annual improvement of retention and graduation rates
· Implement a case management approach for advising and monitoring student progress
· Coordinate with Academic Affairs and Student Experience staff to implement and maintain a student alert system for retention red flags
· Communicate with key staff on the initial mental health assessment process of incoming students and ongoing clinic outreach efforts to inform Student Experience, Academic Affairs and other campus areas on needed student development programs, resources and interventions to support campus mental health and wellness
· Review, modify and implement effective policies and procedures for student retention and outreach
· Continuously review and recommend updates and/or corrections to the publications impacting your areas of responsibilities, such as the catalog, website, degree plans, etc. to ensure up to date and correct information is available to students
· Evaluate staff annually against program / grant objectives, annual goals and objectives defined by the College
· Schedule on and off campus training and professional development opportunities for reporting staff members
· Work closely with Research / Institutional Effectiveness Office to assess effectiveness of retention and outreach initiates, specifically, determine and report the fall to fall and fall to spring retention rates of student populations (first time freshmen, online only, athletes, etc).
· Coordinate the on-time reporting of retention and success data both internally and externally
· Monitor progress to graduation and utilize available retention and outreach resources to keep or return students to graduation track
· Closely collaborate with key staff on Summer Bridge Program planning and implementation
· Closely collaborate with Work Program staff and support to ensure retention and outreach programs are effectively supporting students in work program
· Engage in fundraising and grant writing to support the retention and outreach efforts of the College
· Other duties as assigned.

· Communication: The ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, with various audiences including the community, administrators, students, faculty, staff and external stakeholders.
· Collaboration: The ability to work across the campus with various offices and staff/faculty
· Confidentially: ability to use maturity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
· Attention to detail: The ability to gather, organize and monitor information for correct and complete communication.
· Problem Solving: The ability to resolve or address issues prior to being escalated; keen research, critical thinking and analytical skills.
· Time Management: Strong work ethic and the ability to accomplish multiple tasks in a timely manner with minimal direction.
· Project Management: Strong project management and organizational skills.
· Technical Proficiency: Knowledgeable about computer systems, technology and information management.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree is required
● Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling or related discipline preferred
● 3 years’ experience in supporting the academic and development of first generation and under-resourced students
● 5+ years’ experience preferred in areas of academic advising, student support, counseling
● Experience in higher education is preferred

Salary Range
*$65,000 – $80,000
*Education, documented and related work experience will be taken into consideration for offered salary
