Specialist Position in General Internal Medicine & Health Services Research

The Division of General Internal Medicine & Health Services Research invites applications for a Specialist position at full rank to provide administrative research and program oversight for various community projects and studies. The Specialist will help support projects in the UCLA Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) Community Engagement Research Program (CERP), DGSOM Community Engagement Program, and other health service research grants. Responsibilities include supervising teams to implement community engagement, outreach, and research. Specialist will serve as a consultant for city and county level workforce development initiatives. The Specialist will facilitate long-term outcome reporting for completed projects using focus groups and other formats to gain insight from participants. Specialist will be instrumental in expanding and improving successful projects and developing new programs as needed. The Specialist will be responsible for working with other departments and schools at UCLA and any state and federal funders, will coordinate and manage the development of written materials for web sites, brochures and other information or content materials such as scientific manuscripts and outreach materials for active projects. The Specialist will plan and coordinate programs, including public lectures and other lecture series, annual events, conferences, education outreach across a broad range of stakeholders in the scientific community and public at large, building relationships with related external and internal organizations.
A master’s degree (M.P.H., M.S.W., etc.) or a terminal degree is required with extensive knowledge or 10 or more years of experience working with community partners and project management experience supporting grants from faculty leading community-based research projects.
