JOB SUMMARY:

Shares responsibility with other members
of the Research & Instruction Services department for providing all facets of research services. Assists in the selection and evaluation of
library collections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops library oriented open education
  resources (OER) and open access (OA) initiatives.
• Monitors
  and develops the library’s subject/departmental liaison
  program.
• Assists
  the Head of Research and Instruction Services
  with monitoring Acquisitions budget funds.
• Works
  as
  a team with librarians and faculty to evaluate existing resources.
• Investigates
  new resources based on university curriculum and
  research needs.
• Evaluates
  the entire library collection using data and assessment tools and makes
  recommendations to library
  leadership for various projects such as DEI
  initiatives.
• Works
  with students, faculty, staff, and other users on a one-to-one
  basis by filling
  specific information requests, offering research assistance, and guiding
  patrons in the effective use of information
  sources available through the library.
• Provides
  individual, classroom, and group instruction in library services
  and
  procedures, search strategies, and the use of information sources.
• Advises
  library users with online search and research
  strategies.
• Assists
  patrons in the use of the Library’s services, programs, resources and collections.
• Serves
  as the
  acquisitions liaison to designated academic departments and subject
  areas.  Assists in collection development
  and evaluation; and
  works to develop and maintain good relations with the faculty.
• Participates
  in professional activities, including university and
  library committees and
  task forces, and attendance at professional meetings.
• Other
  responsibilities and duties as assigned by
  the Head of Research & Instruction Services.

Head of Research and Instruction Services.

assistants.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Requires
  a master’s degree from an ALA-accredited
  program. 
• Experience
  in an academic library.
• Knowledge
  of collections and library resources.
• Knowledge
  of
  automated library systems, presentation software, and other related
  software and equipment.
• Must
  possess good oral, written,
  telephone and interpersonal skills.
• Ability
  to handle differing, non-routine work situations and problems by
  exercising
  independent judgment and initiative.
• Ability
  to perform the essential functions of the position with
  our without
  accommodation.

WORKING
CONDITIONS:  Duties
are performed indoors and not exposed to adverse
conditions.
