Program Director for Special Projects
The Program Director for Special Projects plays a critical role in overseeing the development of major programs and special events from enrollment to commencement and beyond for the Division of Student Success. The Program Director for Special Projects is supervised by the Chief of Staff and works collaboratively across the Division of Student Success and the university.

Job Responsibilities
Event Planning & Program Development: The Program Director for Special Projects will oversee all aspects of major event and special program development (concerts, performances, donor engagement, professional development series, speakers, etc) for the Division of Student Success. This includes communication and coordination with campus partners and off-campus vendors, management of budget, etc. The program director will be the main point of contact for divisional major programs and signature events, and will serve as an event manager for select programs and special events for units within the Division of Student Success. The incumbent will work with campus partners (Office of the Chancellor, Student Life, Athletics, UTPD, etc.) to develop programs for special populations and strategic initiatives.
Supervision: Direct supervision and coordination of performance evaluation for the Coordinator of Special Programs; Indirect supervision of practicum students, Interns, and student employees; Assist with recruitment and selection of professional and student staff.
Leadership: Chair the Vol Success Week Committee and lead/serve on major event committees the Division of Student Success; represent the division as liaison to various offices on campus.
Assessment, Data & Technology: Partner with colleagues to assess key programs and activities; Work with team to identify trends and suggestions for improvements to programs, publications, and event scheduling software; Contribute to print and online publications and website in collaboration with Division of Student Success partners.
Other duties as assigned.

· Specialized knowledge of issues related to student transition to college
· Ability to relate effectively with students, parents, and other University partners
Required Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree, 3-5 years of experience working in the area of student activities, event planning and/or new student and/or orientation and transition programs;
· Experience with relevant technology programs;
· Experience programming effectively for a diverse student population
Preferred Experience
· Master’s degree in higher education, college student personnel, or related field preferred; management of high profile events on a college campus
· Experience in orientation or transition office or campus activities
· Experience coordinating major events with university administrators
Anticipated hiring salary: Minimum of $68,000
