Position
Summary
The Neuroscience Program at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites
applications for a 2-year, non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor of Neuroscience instructional position that will begin August 10,
2024. Located in historic Williamsburg, Virginia and close to metropolitan areas such as Richmond, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach, William &
Mary consistently ranks among the top public universities nationally.
This appointment has a service component commensurate with rank.
This appointment may be renewable contingent upon program needs, availability of funds, and performance review.
We seek an individual
with expertise in cellular or molecular neuroscience. The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a
[3-3] teaching load.
Required Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Biology, Neuroscience, or a closely related
discipline is required at the time the appointment begins (August 10, 2024). Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in
Neurobiology and/or Biostatistics and develop advanced undergraduate cellular or molecular neuroscience courses in their area of
expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience teaching and mentoring undergraduates is
preferred.
