Seattle Colleges Looking for Executive Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness Full Time

North Seattle College is looking to hire an Executive Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness to lead the Institutional Research and Effectiveness department.

Salary Range for this position is $107,260 to $148,120 annually.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the President of North Seattle College, the Executive Director for Institutional Research and Effectiveness is responsible for planning, leading, and evaluating comprehensive processes of institutional research and planning at the College. The position works with all college constituencies to plan and implement programs and services that support the college mission and core themes, to assess their effectiveness using relevant quantitative and qualitative data, and to use the assessment to inform decisions about those programs and services. The Director has responsibility for developing and managing budgets that support institutional research and planning, and supervises any associated institutional research staff. The position works closely with colleagues in comparable positions within the Seattle Colleges and participates with relevant state, regional, and national groups engaged in similar work.

This position supervises a Grants Director, Director of Assessment, and a Senior Research Data Analyst.

This position is full-time, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during office hours.

What you will be working on:

Institutional Research & Data Management:

• Promote a college-wide culture of inquiry in which evidence-based assessment is used to measure the effectiveness of all programs, services, and processes.
• Provide oversight and leadership of the Institutional Research team, Including the Grants Director, Director of Assessment, and Senior Research Data Analyst.
• Work with Institutional Research team to address data information needs of all segments of campus community.
• Assist constituents in identifying data for assessment of programs, services, and processes.
• Provides and/or interpret data from local databases and available external data sources.
• Design and conduct qualitative data collection through instruments such as surveys, questionnaires, interviews, and focus groups.
• Conduct Human Subjects Review and the administration of external surveys.
• Coordinate environmental scanning and the administration of internal college-wide surveys.
• Strategically navigate the complexities of institutional research requests and proactively lead district initiatives to further student success.
• Lead district-wide IR initiatives as requested.

Strategic Planning & Initiatives:

• Collaborate with the budget office to ensure that budgetary planning aligns with and supports strategic planning and implementation.
• Lead college-level strategic planning, including the development of appropriate strategic goals and objectives, and assessable indicators to evaluate the accomplishment of the objectives.
• Compile data to measure the achievement of strategic plan objectives, and report these data in an annual report to the campus leadership and community.
• Work with units across the campus to align unit-level planning with college-wide strategic planning as necessary.
• Assist district-wide institutional effectiveness staff with strategic planning to include periodic systematic reviews of the district’s vision, mission, values.
• In collaboration with the Vice Chancellor for Academic & Student Success and the district office Senior Research Analyst, coordinate updates and assess metrics to Seattle Colleges’ Strategic Plan.

Accreditation & Engagement:

• Serve as the college’s Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Consult and collaborate with the ALOs at North and South Seattle.
• Engage with stakeholders across all three Seattle Colleges to develop dashboards and reports to be used across the Seattle Colleges.
• Lead and participate in training activities for new Institutional Research colleagues across the three Seattle Colleges.
• Provide technical assistance/expertise to the Vice Chancellor for Academic & Student Success related to district office and district-wide Institutional Research initiatives.
• Additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Campus President and District Executive Leadership.

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

• Master’s Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Business, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Demonstrated experience in an administrative role in higher education or related setting.
• Demonstrated experience with using data and information technology to inform planning and practice in a higher education or related setting.
