Job Summary
The School of Teaching and Learning invites applications for one tenure-track position beginning August 16, 2024. We are seeking qualified candidates in the field of Elementary Literacy.
The Elementary Teacher Education program is particularly interested in applicants who have expertise in elementary reading, literacy assessment, reading and language development, reading and writing connections, and/or inclusive approaches to teaching reading. A commitment to social justice, linguistic and cultural diversity, accessibility, and inclusion is integral to the responsibilities of this position.
Responsibilities include scholarly research/publishing, effective undergraduate and graduate teaching, and service. The normal teaching load is nine credit hours per semester. The individual in this position is thus expected to teach 3 courses each semester in the School of Teaching and Learning.
The position is a nine-month, tenure track appointment with the possibility of summer teaching. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. The locus of annual evaluation, tenure, and promotion in rank will be in the School of Teaching and Learning. A comprehensive benefits package is included.

Required Qualifications
1) Terminal degree or ABD in elementary literacy or a relevant field with a completion date prior to August 16, 2024.
2) Minimum of three years teaching experience in elementary learning contexts (K through 6th grades).
3) Demonstrated potential for scholarly research and publication in literacy.
4) If at the Associate rank, established record of scholarship commensurate with this rank.
5) State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
