The Department of Criminology and Political Science is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Political Science program offers a B.A. and supports a number of interdisciplinary minors throughout the college. The department has an established record of engaging students through activities such as undergraduate research, experiential learning, and collaborating with community partners on grant funded research projects.
The department is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in political science at the rank of assistant professor to begin in August 2024. Primary teaching responsibility will consist of 6 undergraduate courses per academic year (3-3 load) with one course release during the first year and an additional course release during the tenure-track period. Specialization is open. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Political Science or related field by the time of appointment.

Required Education and Experience:
PhD in political science or related discipline is required. (ABDs will be considered but must have completed the PhD by the time of appointment)
Outstanding research potential and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Specialization is open; however, candidates with a specialization in conflict studies or legal studies are preferred.
Candidates for this position should have an active research agenda leading to high-quality publications.
A highly qualified candidate will demonstrate dedication to student-centered learning both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
