The Center for Leadership and Service
Responsibilities
This position serves as the human resource representative, travel representative, procurement representative, and purchasing card proxy for the Center for Leadership and Service.
Responsible for performing human resource and payroll functions for the department. Initiates FSU job postings for department openings. Reviews applications and serves on occasional hiring teams. Works independently to review active employee reports, biweekly time and leave entry and approvals, review of cost center reports, and certification of payroll. Responsible for preparing all entries and processing paperwork for new hires including, onboarding, submission of I9 status, offer letters for new staff and Graduate Assistants.
Serves as Financial Representative for Travel and Procurement for the CLS. Stays up to date on university financial practices by attending training and Financial Rep meetings. Serves as Travel Rep responsible for entering travel authorizations and expense reports to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Assists in ensuring sound internal controls and compliance with University policies and procedures by monitoring travel activities using queries & reports. Utilizes P-Card or procurement module to work with CLS staff to purchase goods and services. Assists with procurement, receiving carts and processing payments and other departmental operations, program preparations, events as needed.
Assists in the supervision of the administrative student staff (federal work study and/or OPS) and their assignment of duties.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Ability to maintain accurate records and retrieve files from active or archive sources. Basic filing practices to include numeric and alphabetic systems.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and etiquette.
A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver’s license or the ability to obtain upon hire.

Anticipated Salary Range
Low $40,00’s, commensurate with education and experience.

This position is based in Tallahassee and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
This position may be eligible to participate in the Alternate Work Program after six months, which will allow for a hybrid work schedule.
