The Office of Assessment and Learning (A&L) in Undergraduate Medical Education is looking for a highly organized, motivated Operations Manager. This position requires a broad range of skills to support educational assessment for the School of Medicine. The selected candidate will be able to organize complex processes and lead a high functioning team in coordinated efforts, which result in excellent quality clinical skills and knowledge-based assessments for medical students and other Health Sciences Center learners. Skills necessary to be successful in this position involve: planning logistics, developing complex schedules, supervising personnel, managing a large program, tracking budgets, improving processes, thinking on your feet to adapt to unexpected changes and maintaining a sense of humor. This individual must be an effective team leader and collaborative team player. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to interact effectively with the variety of constituents that we serve including faculty, staff and students from the School of Medicine and Health Sciences Center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations:
* Provide support, training and assistance to all A&L staff and Directors, as requested or situationally required
* Represent A&L by attending, facilitating, and/or and providing support to meetings as requested by Director
* Oversee/monitor compliance with UNM and HSC policies, procedures, and required training
* Assist departmental administration and staff with strategic planning
* Collaborate with Director to develop office policy and procedures; produce and continually maintain documentation of procedures and staff expectations
* Collaborate with director to determine roles/responsibilities of office support staff, organizational structure and hiring
* Directly supervise at least three regular staff; provide human resource and policy guidance, coaching, encouragement and support the professional development of lower graded staff and student employee(s)
Fiscal Oversight:
* In coordination with director and OoE Financial Analyst:
– provide fiscal oversight, budget development and projection
– monitor the administration of program revenues and expenses
– review and/or create internal financial reports
– review and/or approve departmental expenditures
* Review/sign timesheets for lower graded staff and student employee(s);
* Attend and provide information for periodic budget meetings with Financial Analyst and Sr. Associate Dean

High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 3 years of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
