Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for a Director of Housing and Residence Life.
About the Role
As part of the Student Success, Well-Being, and Belonging (SSWBB) division, the Director of Housing and Residence Life is responsible for fostering a living and learning environment within university student residential buildings that contributes to holistic student development. Additionally, the director promotes community development through residential programming and community standards consistent with the mission, operations, and policies of the university. The director is also the Student Conduct Coordinator and supports the student-led conduct system as its primary advisor and meets regularly with student board chairs to coordinate the conduct process.
This position reports to the Dean of Students and supervises one associate director and one assistant director of housing and residence life, in addition to one area coordinator. The director works closely with their colleagues in SSWBB, as well as with Facilities Management, Enrollment Management, and other offices to ensure students, including student residence life leaders, develop a strong sense of belonging and are actively engaged in campus life.
The director is required to live on campus and may be called upon at any time to assist in responding to student emergencies.

Preferred candidates will have experience with residential, liberal arts, historically women’s-serving higher education institutions.
