Job Description
Facilities Development and Management, seeks a Program Manager as part of the University’s Zero Waste Program including the development and implementation of education and collection programs on all ASU campuses.
Salary Range
$50,000 – $60,000 per year based on experience and education ASU offers a comprehensive benefits package with the State of Arizona.

Essential Duties
70% office 30% Field, Fluctuates Seasonally
· Develop and document operating procedures for all Zero Waste programs (athletics, move out, move in, etc)
· Manage safety requirements and analyze job hazards for Zero Waste Department with focus on implementation of safety guidelines.
· Responsible for the oversight of daily and weekly workflow by assigning tasks and work orders through TMA system.
· Develop and maintain relationships with recycling vendors, processors, and municipalities.
· Manage the operations of the Facilities Materials Yard and track the use of all users.
· Assist in waste coordination for institutional events, seasonal events, and projects.
· Ensure vehicles and equipment for Zero Waste Department are maintained to University standards.
· Record keeping for material processed.
· Consult in design for University construction projects.
· Manage Back of House Food Waste collection.
· Collect Data and create reports.
· Manage Back of House Food Waste program.
· Oversee time management for all subordinates ensuring University policies are adhered to.
DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Some nights and weekends will be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND five years administrative/coordination experience; OR, Master’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND three years administrative/coordination experience; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
· Experience managing and/or leading a solid waste, zero waste, and/or sustainability program
· Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, and Outlook
· Customer service experience
· Experience training or presenting materials
· Experience utilizing a commercial work order system
· Experience working in a college or university setting
· Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills
Working Environment
· Some work activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
· Required to stand/sit for varying lengths of time and travel moderate distances to perform work.
· Regular use of standard office equipment and associated computer/technology peripherals.
· Work activities may also require regular exposure to external environmental conditions including heat, cold, dust, wind, insects, flora and fauna indigenous to a desert climate.
· Extended periods of walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and kneeling.
· Lifting, pushing, and/or carrying objects of varying weights up to 70 pounds.
· Operate forklifts and compactors.
· Drive University vehicles and/or carts.
· Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to perform essential duties.

This position is located at the University Services Building, 1551 S. Rural Road, Tempe, AZ (on Rural Road south of Apache Blvd).
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license (minimum of Class D) upon employment and maintain throughout employment. Post-offer of employment, selected candidate must possess an acceptable driving record which is 5 or fewer points in the most recent 39 month period from date of hire.
