The University of Notre Dame () is accepting applications for a Assistant Controller, Accounting Operations.

The Assistant Controller for Accounting Operations oversees the functional aspects of the University’s financial enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to ensure core accounting processes are integrated properly with each supporting subsystem. The successful candidate for this position will serve as a member of the Controller’s senior leadership team, and will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of all systems-related projects impacting the group as well certain divisional projects.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
* Ongoing Operational Systems Support
– Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of the University’s chart of accounts
– Serve as lead resource for finance ERP system.
– Liaison with OIT for all projects and initiatives involving any of the finance systems
– Oversee the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close to ensure all entries are properly received and posted in a timely and well-coordinated manner
– Coordinate payment processes(checks, ACH payments, e-payables process)
– Manage the access to the University’s ERP system (Banner) and other related sub systems
* Office Systems Support
– Manage existing hardware and ancillary support systems across the division; Campus Workstation Program (CWP)
– Coordinate cyber security communications and risk mitigation efforts in conjunction with OIT
– Oversee Facilities and Administrative rate application and encumbrance process
* Maint/Upgrades/Interfaces
– Manage the testing and implementation of upgrades to existing software modules, especially as they relate to the interfaces with our core system
– Coordinate any new/existing system additions or refinements
* OIT Joint Projects and Finance Division Projects
– Represent Finance Division on Finance Guidance Counsel to assist in the prioritization and planning of key systems projects
– Coordinate representation from the Controller’s Office on any system-related project team
– Coordinate the integration of any new or existing system with Banner
– Manage overall project list and provide regular updates through the Fin Division Tech Committee
– Oversee Business Continuity Plans and Implementation procedures
* ND Marketplace/P Card/Part Card
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance related field.
10 or more years of accounting experience working closely with IT.
Excellent project management skills expected along with strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA/MBA. Process improvement capabilities (Lean Six Sigma)
