Guilford College, in Greensboro, NC, seeks an innovative, ambitious leader to serve as its next Director of Alumni Relations and
Engagement. Partnering with internal and external constituents, the ideal candidate will build on the College’s exceptionally strong
foundation by collaborating with outstanding alumni, faculty, staff, and students to shape Guilford’s next chapter and secure its
place as a leader in liberal arts education. The Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement will provide strategic and visionary leadership
to the Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations, and be a critical member of the Vice President’s senior team, working
across the institution to maintain an unbreakable link from the classroom to commencement and through a graduate’s life journey while
building the desire for philanthropic engagement.
Guilford College is a private, coed, residential liberal arts college
recognized for being one of the few distinguished colleges included in Colleges that Change Lives for more than 20 years.
Founded in 1837 by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) as a boarding school, Guilford enrolls approximately 1,400 students, from 36
states and 12 countries, with 39 major fields, 50 minor fields and 3 Graduate programs. Among the nation’s small liberal arts
colleges, Guilford is viewed as one of the “Best 384 Colleges” and “Best Southeastern Colleges” according to
the Princeton Review. This is a highly externally facing role and the Director will serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for
the College and as the primary alumni representative across the broader Guilford community. The Director will be a forward-thinking
individual experienced in developing, motivating and leading a new team that is to be hired. The Director will provide the guidance and
support necessary to promote and nurture relationships among the College, its alumni and other external constituents.
