Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Computer Science in the College of Science and Technology welcomes applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position beginning August 2024. Responsibilities include teaching, advising students, scholarly or creative work and department and university service. Actual assignments will depend upon department needs.
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications as well as aligned with the details contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Millersville University Promotion Statement.
Minimum qualifications required to be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate include having an earned doctorate and a minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience (or its equivalent) and scholarship commensurate with this rank.

EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND PERFORMANCE OF PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Tenure Track faculty are responsible for teaching major and/or non-major courses (lectures and laboratories) in general Computer Science as well as in their area of specialization.Faculty are expected to hold regular office hours as well as be able to teach in a variety of delivery modalities.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise interns and independent studies as well as theses. Other reasonable duties assigned within the faculty member’s field of competence. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:The 7-member department is housed with modern teaching labs and dedicated faculty research labs. The Department of Computer Science, in the College of Science and Technology, has approximately 200 majors. The department offers an ABET accredited B.S. degree program in Computer Science, a multidisciplinary Data Science B.S., as well as minors in Computer Science and Data Science.
Faculty in the Department of Computer Science at Millersville University have the opportunity to teach a diverse range of courses from introductory to advanced elective topics, as well as developing new courses in their areas of interest. Our courses are designed to maximize student engagement and facilitate close faculty-student interactions with small class sizes. All courses are four credits with a lab component, providing ample time for in-depth exploration and project-based learning, as well as allowing faculty to work directly with students on their projects during the lab period. Furthermore, we strongly believe in the power of research engagement as a means to enhance the educational experience of our undergraduate students and frequently engage our undergraduate students in research projects. In summary, this faculty position offers a unique opportunity to teach a wide range of courses, develop new courses in your areas of interest, engage undergraduate students in research projects, and work directly with students on their assignments and projects through the course lab component.Essential Functions:
