Educational and Experience Requirement:
Associates degree in a related field. Three years of relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:
Performs advanced administrative assistant duties for the Department of Educational Leadership.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides clerical, administrative and project support services for the Department Chair, faculty and students of the Educational Leadership Department and it’s programs. Adheres to and maintains currency with university policies and procedures. Duties include, but not limited to, ensures departmental hours of operation; hiring and develops work schedules for student workers and graduate assistants; processes travel applications and vouchers; orders office supplies and other departmental items. Maintains office equipment; assists with faculty hires; course scheduling; student registration; scholarship disbursements; monitors and reconciles department budget accounts; processes departmental payroll actions and performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:
Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Must be detail oriented and be able to adapt to changes. Requires a general knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Requires a willingness to learn and make use of other productivity improvement applications.
