The Electrical Engineer assists in the design, development and testing electrical designs for specialized equipment. This position understands equipment, business and customer requirements that drive the design of the technical solutions and participates in all phases of product development lifecycle, including the analysis, design and equipment construction, and installation support of designed equipment and confers with other engineering staff for programming and site startup support.
* Operates computer-assisted engineering or design software tor equipment to perform engineering tasks.
* Prepares technical drawings and specifications for electrical control panels.
* Assists field engineers with installation of designed systems and verifies proper build of designed systems.
* Assists in developing manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components.
* Resolves required changes and supports solution to complete designed equipment during installation.
* Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
* Additional duties as assigned.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* 2 – 5 years previous professional electrical engineering experience. Prior experience in the material handling industry is a plus.
* Limited travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
* High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
* Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
* Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
* Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
* Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
* Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; talk, hear and see.
* Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
* The noise level in the work environment may be high.
