Position Highlights |
The Department of Translational Neurosciences at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix is looking for a Research Professional II to conduct advanced neuroscience research in the laboratory of Dr James Bibb. The applicant will be expected to contribute intellectually to this research, derive and present data, and to contribute to scientific publications of high impact. The candidate will have the opportunity to engage in scientific support for an ongoing lab project, in collaboration with other lab members, and lead independent research projects. This is an exceptional opportunity to conduct advanced research, learn innovative approaches, and further develop a career in translational research relevant to biotechnology, neuroscience, and pharmaceutical industry fields. * Master’s or PhD in neuroscience, biomedical science, biology, or related field of study. * Published papers in peer reviewed journals. * Experience with animal models of disease and the assessment of therapeutic compounds or interventions. * Knowledge of recombinant protein purification and analysis. * Familiarity with stereotaxic surgeries for viral injections and cannula implantations. * Skilled with mouse brain dissection, tissue processing, immunohistochemistry and fluorescent microscopy. * Familiarity with programming (MATLAB/Python) is highly desired. * Experience with proteomic and bioinformatic approaches relating to neuronal function. * Knowledge of viral vector design, biosensor or CRSPR technology. |
